My Relationship with Clay!
I'm a retired bookstore manager returning to pottery after a 20-year hiatus. I live in Sudbury, ON, Canada, and create one-of-a-kind highly decorated pieces in my home studio that are sometimes functional but mostly artistic.
I hope you love them as much as I love making them. MY STORY From mud pies at the age of 6 to graduating from the École des beaux-arts in Montreal with a major in ceramics and a minor in photography, clay has always been a significant part of my life. After moving countless times and lugging all my pottery equipment with me for over 20 years, I decided to get a regular job when we moved to Sudbury. Now that I'm retired, I'm back at it and I love it. My son and daughter live close by and I am grateful for who they are and what they've accomplished. They keep me grounded and are a big part of my artistic journey as well as a source of inspiration. INSPIRATION I'm inspired by all that's around me. The beauty outside my large window , my grand-daughters that have taught me about fun and their new addiction to crystals and all things esoteric inspires the way I handle clay and how it gives back in beautiful shapes and forms. At Cheeky Little Pot, every piece is hand-built, glazed and kiln fired. Food-safe glazes are used and all pieces are created to provide a lasting, hands-on feeling experience. I hope you enjoy my bit of whimsy! Take a peek, it's a lot of fun! Thanks, ~Jolene |
