June theme for 365 day project

6/4/2013

Comments

It's June already....the 6th month and almost half way there.  Amazing how this project has taken on a life of its own.  I'm having a blast and I hope you enjoy following my progress.  This month's theme is "ANGLES".  I haven't quite developed it in my head yet but I know that with each day, it will gather strength.  Let me know how you think I'm doing from time to time.  Have a great June...enjoy the flowers and hopefully some warmer weather....Love what you shoot!

My last picture for June!  Angles is over.  I've learned a lot from this theme.  It helps make your photography more original, less static. I hope you enjoyed June as much as I have. On to July.

More wild flowers in my yard!  Taken down low from behind the flowers, focused on the flowers leaving the house in blur behind.
Tomorrow is the last day of June...looking for great ideas on a theme for July...don't be afraid to give me your opinion...every little bit helps.

the last of my lupins...I know...they're weeds but lupins and wild daisies are my favorite flowers.  And they make great pics...check the angle on this one. Take from above and lots of out of focus except for the very top where I focused.  Love it.

Mushrooms grow profusely in my yard but this is a type I've never seen there before...love the the punk hairdo!

My husband and son left on a 3 day fishing trip...I'm pretty sure men are worse than women....they had enough stuff for a month.

Nothing special about the angle but the fish eye effect gives it a little hoompha!

My filing system needs an overhaul...but it sure does make for interesting photos.

What a gorgeous spot near Severn Bridge.

My lupins are out and I angled it a little differently keeping some in focus and some blurred.

Following the rule of thirds, I put the centre of the plant in the top left corner giving the plant a more dynamic effect.

The University is a great place for angles...Nifty!

This is only a 15' boat but the angle makes it look a whole lot bigger....very neat!

This shot is just an ordinary window in an ordinary hallway...a little creative angle when taking the picture and then a color change in photoshop and voila!  pretty cool!

Jessie, Caroline and I took our photo-shoot to the University and this is the result of the angle shot I took of the two of them...Me at the bottom of the stairs and them...up above!  We had so much fun!  Thanks so much girls!

Love trains...this one had great contrasting colors of red against the greenery and the barrels were so cool on the the train..they helped reinforce the other circle shapes of the the train. The early morning fog helped to give it a nice soft Saturday morning feeling.

C'm'on, give me a hug!  This tree from this angle, looks like it's reaching out to get or give a hug....I love it.  Points of view, new angles...great opportunities for something different! Pictures that tell a story!

Today, it's flowers.  These tall flowers looked much better when I brought the camera down to the stem level.  I call this one "Friends forever"....

For this photo, I used a wider angled lens set at 24m, and shot from down near the corner of the first wooden fence post! The composition is so much more interesting....don't be afraid to change your point of view!  Angles you know!

Even boring buildings get a lift when you change the angle...this is a building at the University and I chose it for it's windows and patterns of interest.  Then I changed the angle of view and it changed the dynamics of the picture.  What do you think?  Does it work?

I wanted to take a picture of the lighthouse in the back but when I saw the red chairs, I thought that shooting the lighthouse from this angle would give the picture more life.I think it works.

This is the dock from another angle.  There was a staircase and I was able to stand at a higher level to take the picture from above.

This was taken in Traverse City during a shopping trip with my family.  It was a foggy day and the lake is low so the pier is sticking out of the water quite a bit more than it should.  Love the look.

ABOUT ME

After more than 20 years, I decided to spend some of my retirement time renewing an old interest.  I was a potter for 23 years and then gave it up when we moved. I sold my pottery studio, took a position as a bookstore manager and didn't look back.  Now, I'm retired and revisiting this creative outlet.
Since all my pieces are hand built, they are all one-of-a-kind.  They're a little crooked, a little rough around the edges, and a little cheeky.  I hope you love them as much as I love making them.
At Cheeky Little Pot, every piece is hand-built, glazed and kiln fired.  Food-safe glazes are used and all pieces are created to provide a lasting, hands-on feeling experience.  Prices are listed under each photo.
At this time, only e-transfers will be accepted.  Any shipping charges will be added to the price of the piece.
Please contact Jolene at jolenelizotte@outlook.com for more information. I can also be reached at 705-280-5666.

I hope you enjoy my bit of whimsy!  Take a peek, it's a lot of fun!
Thanks    ~Jolene
